Prevention Services Manager
Juan was born in Leon, Guanajuato and grew up in Richmond, California, where he attended and graduated Richmond High School. From a young age, he was involved with social justice around equitable funding towards public schools. Juan recently graduated from UC Berkeley in May 2017 with a B.A. in Geography and Astrophysics. He has an interest in higher education and wishes to pursue further training in STEM. In the meantime, Juan is determined to become a physician and connect with under-served communities to better understand and re-image the field of medicine through a holistic lens.
Being the Prevention Services Manager, he aspires to learn from community members how to better assess their needs and immediate care through the resources that better resonate with their struggles. Juan understands the power in community work and creating spaces for members to understand their potential.
Juan enjoys photography, biking, dancing, and powerlifting as a form of self-care.
