Arquimides Caldera
Board Chair

Arquimides joined the Board of SLHP in November 2013, and has previously served as the Board Treasurer. He has over 22 years of experience in local government, and currently serves as the Deputy Human Services Director for the City of Fremont. In this role, he helps oversee a department that offers residents a wide array of safety net services, including care management, mental health and substance use disorder counseling, financial coaching, and mobile hygiene services. The Department includes the Fremont Family Resource Center and City’s two Age Well Centers. He’s also responsible for the financial sustainability of the Department and has worked to leverage City funds with a variety of private, County,
State and Federal (including Medi-Cal) funding sources. He previously served as the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Administrator, administering both Federal and local social services grants, which allowed him to work with non-profits throughout southern and eastern Alameda County.
The son of Immigrants from Mexico, Arquimides grew up in rural Northern California before attending the University of California, Berkeley, where he completed both a Bachelor’s degree in Rhetoric and Master’s degree of Public Policy.
