Tanya is an Oakland native with roots in the Fruitvale area. She feels fortunate to have come across an opportunity to work in her old neighborhood through an introduction of Street Level as a part of a presentation during her public health class at UC Santa Cruz in 2014.

Tanya has over 10 years of experience within the health field, including management, finance and direct service. This experience proved to be beneficial in her role as Health Access manager at Street Level between 2015 – 2017. Tanya has now returned to us as our new Finance & HR Director, bringing new ideas and programmatic input to the organization.

Tanya is also pursuing her master’s in science with a focus in Health Administration at CSUEB. She is hopeful that this will be an opportunity to bring together her personal and professional experiences along with her passion for non-profit, grassroots work. This would enable her to continue to contribute to the great work that Street Level and other like organizations provide.

In her free time, she enjoys time with her daughter and family. Her love of baseball has led her to pursue her dream of visiting every ball park in the country. She plans on having seen all west coast teams at their parks by the end of the 2018 season.
